Sallam,
Please join us for a joint Bosnian-Iranian potluck at the park this Sunday. It's a great opportunity to make new friends while spending a nice day out. If you think you'll be able to join and want to help with prep, drop a line. I'll send details later. We'll share food, bring games, listen to music and chat with people. The invitation goes to your families as well.
bA tashakor,
-Foroozan

Sallam,
In an attempt to help the Bosnian refugees who now live in the Bay Area, a few of us had a visit to one of the apartment complexes where they reside. For those of you who keep up with the news, there is no need to explain the pain they've been through in Bosnia. The good news is some are closer to home, so *you* can make a difference. As San Jose Mercury News writes in the Sunday Aug 20th issue:
"Language is the biggest barrier for these people. It's hard to get through the basics of everyday life when there's so much you don't understand. Most of them just muddle through."
Please read the report below if you're still interested to help. I will be more than happy to answer any additional questions you may have. Please do not send replies to this alias. Use my direct email: forooz@hafez.corp.sun.com
Thanks for your time.
