Humanitarian Effort- Bosnia

Hello,

The picnic with bosnians was really good. Thanks Cynthia for forwarding the message. As before, it sounds like the main thing that we can help our friends with is tutoring English. So, please take a moment and read this email.

We need at least 3 volunteers who can spare an hour a week to teach a family. Sheila and I met a brand new family who needs help immidiately. These are mainly families with one or more professional in their household. They'll pick up faster and will find jobs easier if you work with them.

Potentially, the following households need help:

• 1. Nehad & Yasna (entered US not long ago- have a 6 month old baby)
• 2. 2 couples living in one apt. with their kids.

Let me know if you would like to participate. If so, do the following:

• 1. Pick an evening that's best for you.
• 2. Pick a family- if you're comfortable pick more than 2 people, but I would limit it to 4 so you can get them to participate.
• 3. Select an elementary book from a bookstore. Perhaps books with many pictures of things would be suitable.
• 4. Stay commited!

If your 2 hours/week (including the commute) would help a family get back on their feet, there's a great reward for you somewhere!! I hope! :-)

we shall pitch in for the textbook and other materials. should be inexpensive.
