[ The old king, before his death, advices his son to learn from the history
since the history is the best teacher there is. The new king summons all
the historians and orders them to prepare a full account of everything that
has happened thus far. After 10 years, they come up with hundreds of
volumes of history. The kings says that he has no time to read all these
books and they should summarize these books in 100 books. After 20 years,
they come up with a summarized history of the world in mere 100 books
and present the books to the king. The king says that he is too busy
running an empire and does not have time to read 100 books. They should
go ahead and summarize the whole history into 10 books. Two decades later,
the 10 books of everything that has happened so far is presented
to the king. The middle-aged king says that he is expanding the empire
and has no time to read the 10 books. They should go ahead and reduce
it to one book. After 10 years, one single book is presented to the,
by now old, king. King is old, tired and weak. He asks the historians
to just tell him what _they_ have learned from reading and writing
and knowing all that has ever happended in the past and save him the
time needed to read this single book. The oldest and wisest of the
historians comes forward and replies. His answer is in this poem
