She'ri az Siavash Kasraii
[ Siavash Kasraii passed away at the age of 70 in Vienna, Austira. He was one of
the best and most famous contemporary Iranian poet. Kasraii was a long
time "Toodeh" member and in 1361, when Toodeh party was banned in Iran,
left his beloved country to Soviet Union, then Germany and finally
settled in Austira.
We have 17 published volumes of poems by him. His long epic poem,
'Arashe kamAngir' is by far the most famous poem he has. Several sections
of this beautiful and moving poem are in effect a poem by themselves.
Below is a section of 'Arashe kamAngir' that I titled 'zendegi'.
Next week, I will post 'Arashe kamAngir' in it's entirety in memory
of Siavash Kasraii. His name will be remembered and respected as
one of the best contemporary Iranian poets in our history.
