Who is Mana Khorashadi?

Mana Khorashadi was a 5 years old Iranian girl who diagnosed with Aplastic Anemina, a deadly decease in which the blood cell production stops and it is as life threatening as lucekima. Mana was born to Mahmoud and Zohreh Khorashadi on May 26, 1989.

Mana successfully went through the radiation therapy followed by the bone marrow transplant operation in March of 1995. Unfortunately, on April 18, Mana started having new complications her doctors could no longer control her environment and considered her case none recoverable. Mana always acted more mature for her age, and she fought with her illness until the last minute. She was indeed one of a kind. May her soul rest in peace.

How could you help

Every year, more than 16,000 children and adults in the United States are diagnosed with fatal blood diseases such as leukemia, and aplastic anemia. For many of these patients, finding a marrow match is the only hope. American Red Cross and other Donor Registry are recruiting donors in your community. These volunteers will be available as potential donors for Mana and other patients across the United States. Please consider becoming a marrow donor. The lives many other patients can be saved.

Have your blood tested for Marrow Match
